Hola! I am Heather.
Long before stages, speaking engagements, or leadership roles, I was a young girl navigating pain no child should carry. Those early experiences could have silenced me—but instead, they lit a fire that shaped my voice. I didn’t just survive; I healed, reclaimed my story, and rose. Along the way, I reconnected with my cultural roots—Latina, Irish, and Native American—which helped me remember that worthiness isn’t something we earn. It’s something we uncover.
For over 30 years, I’ve worked in the nonprofit world—fundraising, advocating, leading, and building systems that support the people most often left behind. And somewhere between boardrooms and breaking points, I found my way back to my innate self: a cowgirl with deep roots, wild dreams, and a calling to help others rise.
Through every chapter of my life, I’ve come to believe this: you were never broken—only buried. And your worth? It was never lost. Just waiting to be remembered.
With a degree in journalism and a love of words, storytelling has always been the way I make sense of the world—and a way to give others the space to do the same. It fueled decades of fundraising: not just asking for support, but sharing the powerful, often unheard stories of the people and missions served.
My creative spirit is rooted in my Indigenous ancestry and grounded in the land I now call home. Whether I’m writing, drawing, or creating something by hand, my art reminds me to be present—to slow down, to listen, to honor both beauty and truth. It’s another way I connect with self-worth, and a tool I now share with others on their journey.
